D&D 5E Anybody else a bit disappointed by the underwhelming selection of Godly Domains?

For my homebrew, there are a few.
But I also need more elemental domains than just Tempest. Though Tempest is excellent because it's more than just "Air" although it kind of suffers by also being "water" (although the Life domain works for my sea god well enough I can overlook that. But I'd like a a Wrath domain that focused on fire, and a Strength domain for earth . . . although I admit the War domain can be slightly modified for each and be close enough.

I can agree with this as well. Having a single Domain cover Air, Water, Lightning, etc is a bit much. Followers of Zeus and Poseidon shouldn't be drawing from the same bag of tricks. You might want to look back at the 3.5 Shugenja from Complete Divine for some inspiration, he was a base class divine caster devoted to the different elements.

Not really, personally I much prefer the broader extent of powers and identity granted by the (more limited in number) domains of 5E than the 2E/3E counterparts.

Likewise, I am very happy with Alignment being (mostly) gutted from the mechanics, since I find it worse than useless myself, and far happier with flaws, bonds, traits, and ideals as roleplay guidelines for new players.
(There are probably a few more than you initially think)

Same. I'd love to see the possibilities of separating Sea from Tempest, or perhaps adding a domain like Love, but I'm pretty happy with the options we have thus far.
