Is that the first of a series of movies featuring houses that are haunted interdimensional nexus?

No it is about a pessimistic, sarcastic doctor with special f/x like CSI, so far I like it.... oh his name is Dr. House.

Do you realize that...

"YOU'RE RISKING A PATIENT'S LIFE?!"

Sorry. Couldn't help myself. Fox has an odd way of getting people to watch their shows. Well, me anyway. I tune in for the unintentional comedy.

I tuned in to the first one, just based on the fact that Hugh Laurie was starring. Not bad, I guess, but depending on how they develop the show, it could be just like all those damn procedural dramas on now.

And hearing Hugh doing an american accent just seems odd to me. Methinks it would have been better to let him keep an english one.

I've been watching. I like it, but I'm not convinced it really works. It's a detective show with an interesting lead character, like Monk. And both shows are very character-driven, which is good. But the mysteries in House are pretty much unsolvable by lay people who don't know all about human anatomy and pathology and physiology. We can't even begin to guess what might be the mysterious ailment or disease, like you can guess whodunnit in a murder mystery.

So I'm thinking it's a good show, well executed, but with a flawed concept. They can't really do much about it, either, without radically changing the show.
