Anybody from Anchorage?

If your the outdoorsy type, youll love AK, if your not, it just sucks. Boscos rocks, awesome store. I grew up in CT, was born in hartford but raised in manchester. small world huh.

It certainly is. I lived in Manchester when I was younger. I just came back to CT a few years ago, after being away for 12 years.
Let me tell you, I'm not a big fan of Hartford. No one really chooses to live here anymore, aside from a few small places, they just get stuck here.

The comic shop in Fairbanks that I used to go to back in the eighties was just called The Comic Shop.

It was great. It had comics, gaming, and music. A guy named Bret ran it for the longest time, then he moved to Juneau and I dont know what ever happened to him.

A friend's old girlfriend went to Anchorage for about two years when she got a reporter job with the NBC afilliate station there.
She was originally from Chicago and she swore that Anchorage got far colder than Chicago ever did. I don't think she ever really liked the city much, but then again she was never what you'd call an "Outdoorswoman".

She apparently had enough of Anchorage when when she opened her door two weeks after she started her job, went to the mailbox and found a huge bull moose standing on her lawn. She also apparently came home on another night to find something that looked like a mountain lion rooting through the garbage cans outside her house.

My 2 cents

I'm delurking just to add my say...

I've lived in Anchorage almost 23 years, and I love it. I even went to the university in Fairbanks for 5 years. So I'll just second what Kesh and WBard say about the place.

Plus, they forgot the Permanent Fund Dividend! Free money, just for being a resident! :D

Not currently from Anchorage, but planning to return in a few years, for good this time. I'd lived there for only two years, but in a few more years of dealing with other stuff in the Lower 48, I'll be more than ready to come back.
