Anybody have a LA+0 goliath?

Actually, I need both in my campaign; in ancient history, AU's giants made up 6 ancient Giant tribes, who followed a Titan they call the Monarch out of dwarven slavery. The Goliaths are the lost 7th tribe, and one of my PCs is tasked at finding them. Once that quest is over, Goliaths are going to be a viable PC race in my setting - but because of my house rule (Level cap of 6, can be extended at max to 10 via specific ceremonies), level adjustments are a tough sell.

But I see your point about the +2 Str, -2 Dex, Large weapons not being balanced against the norm. Any other penalty out there I could throw in?

What about this: +2 Str, -2 Dex. Has access to a Goliath-exclusive feat for the reach.

Goliaths don't have reach, but large-weapon-wielding for a feat doesn't sound too bad. Maybe put some pretty heavy prereqs on it, in addition to being goliath-specific.
