D&D 5E Anybody know of a site where I can download free pawns?

I'm trying to get supplies to host my first game as a DM and pawns are a much more affordable option than buying tons of miniatures.

Thank you.

Plan B, though not quite free, is to stop by your local dollar store - they quite often sell cheap multi-packs of the little pawns used in games like Parcheesi; and these make great pieces to represent generic mooks or 4e-style minions. Or, buying a cheapo chess set will give you 32 pieces - with some variety to them as well.

Plan C, close to free but not quite as elegant-looking, is to take some sticks of scrap wood and cut them up into little bits of varying sizes then paint them a few different colours.

I've always been a fan of glass beads for this kind of use, the big flat kind that you buy by the bag at craft stores for home decoration. They look nice and come in a bunch of colors, so you can use different colors to denote the types of enemies in an encounter. Also very cheap.

Google Tokentool.

Print. Cut. Done. They will be flat, but completely serviceable for any map, and better than dice/beads/shot glasses... ok well at least better than dice or beads.

Soda bottle tops. Collected them for a month and I have MANY...with different colors. And you could glue token paper to the flat top, or just number them like i did with a black marker.

What was ever wrong with the good ol feltpen on laminated combat grid.

My fingers would turn blue whenever a creature moved and I had to redraw its number on a different square.

But yes, I still have the battlemap and usually draw terrain on that.

I suffered with the blue finger and red and green for that matter for years then some one showed me the "rag" it was great the rag got multicoloured not me! It dosnt take that much effort to have to redraw the number no more than nudging a mini
