Could this not be an early printing of D&D in another language? That might explain different names and such...

Even if you took out all of the English in his posts, you'd still be left with things like d50's, and bugbears with 300 HP. The whole system is another animal.

Felikeries: Do you have the rules for character creation, combat, and things like that for the system you have?

Be nice, please, Anabstercorian. Say what you wanna say, but do it nicely, without making personal insults.

On topic, this is clearly not a translation. And it's pretty much the most whacked-out looking system I've seen. But it could be real; a lot of small vanity press gaming items got published in the early days.

this is not OD&D.

to me it practically screams of a player's guide to a Computer game.

i'm thinking the one for intellivision

Anabstercorian, I have deleted your post. Personal insults are prohibited here. Don't like Felikieries's thread? Then stay out, or put him on "ignore," or just comment on his specific ideas. . . but do not attack someone personally.

I actually own a set of the original books (Eldritch Wizardy, Blackmoor, etc etc) as well as Chainmail, and nothing stated exists in those books.

The only thing that comes anywhere close are the class names.

So please do as people have mentioned and go ask Mr Gygax.

possible theories:

1) Maybe it is a player's guide to an old D&D computer game (Diaglo theory).
Anyone know how many D&D computer games there are/were?

2) Someone's house rules got typed up and published in a nice black book (various people support this theory).

3) Someone (not the original poster to this thread), a long time ago, illegally made a game system and stole some ideas from D&D and called it "D&D" and made some money off of it and never got sued, thus fooling the original poster of this thread into thinking that the product had something to do with genuine D&D products, or pre-press versions of those products. (My personal theory)

4) This is a troll. (No one's theory as far as I know. Personally, it seems unlikely, but I have been fooled before).

I'm inclined to agree with you. The only way to be sure is for the original poster to scan the document and post it where we can see it. Trying to guess from the samples posted obviously isn't working (though it is fun).
