Anybody run/play Silver Ann. Against the Giants ?

First Post
I just picked up the Silver Anniversary Against the Giants: Liberation of Goeff.

This is an ADD 2nd ed redo of the original G1-3 series. (Sean K Reynolds is one of the authors.)

I remember the original G1-3 being a blast but kind of treasure heavy. Is this redo the same?

The module says to start at level 9, but this is with 2E giants.
Anybody play and have an idea of a good starting level for 3E?

Any other comments / suggestions?

thanks a pile

Ya, I ran it. I like it as an updated version of the older modules. My group had gone through the orginal ones so many yerars back that it was a great time going through the new ones.

In third edition you really have to be careful. Giants are very nasty in HtH combat and som of the rooms have quite a lot of giants in them.

ditto Crothian. I've run Against the Giants with 3rd edition giants. Very deadly. My players won't play it anymore.
I don't know, I seem to recall the characters in Leopold's annual Gencon AtG game handling those big rooms full of giants reasonably well.

In any case, the first 3e campaign I ran was a conversion of Liberation of Geoff. I started them at 5th level and eased them into it by using one of the minor cities as a starting point. The city had been taken over by an ogre chieftain and his tribe, with a couple of hill giants thrown in the mix. So it was more of a commando style game at first, but it built up to a nice showdown and then onto greater things once they got a few levels under their belts.
