Anyone buy this new Drow mappy thingy?

With the drow? And the maps?

Opinions and observations would be welcome. Saw it at the bookstore yesterday, and I've been thinking about getting it for an all-dwarf one-shot.

If you are speaking about "Fane of the Drow," one of the regulars in our group picked it up. We ran a quick pick up game with it and had some real fun. I don't know if its the kind of thing to work into a regular campaign, but it provided 4 hours of gaming fun for us.

I got it, and I really like it. I play DDM in addition to D&D, so it's really useful for me. I plan on running a revised version of the adventure presented with the maps fairly soon.
The maps are very cool, especially when all you are used to dealing with are blue and green lines on a large play mat. The price was not bad either (er, it was something like $10, right?).

What would have made it even better is if it was something more tile-based like Warhammer Quest or the basic D&D boxed set. That way, it would be even more useful for the RPG thanks to an even greater level of flexibility.

Need quick money? Mmmm, lets put out something that has drow on the cover! Yea, some drow thingy, yea! :o

Sorry, just the way I feel.

Yeah...it's like WotC is trying to run a business and make a profit, isn't it?

Thanks for the link to the other thread, Iron Wolf --- I missed that somehow.

I'd say an RPG person could get a 4 hour quick adeventure out of this product. I think the maps could easily be re-used, or, dread the thought, cut up to make "tiles" that could be re-used.

it is a must for tournament DDM players, as these maps will be tourny legal. There is plenty of discussion about the maps and their effect on DDM play on other forums though, so I'll just say it significantly improves the visual appeal of the game.

Yep, it is and there is nothing wrong with that. :D

OK, as soon as I read this post, all I could think of was "Oy, and the drow, with the icky spidery crawly things, and the crossbows with the poison, and the sleeping and the knocked out thing! Nice Drow lady, hoil! Freunlayven!
