Yes, I know about Alabama and Florida, as well as Arkansas and (technically) Virginia. 
I was just posting the states closest to South Carolina.
Dragoncon is a good idea, since I've never been to it, and Atlanta is a Gaming center of sufficient size (Angelsboi even lives there now).
I shall have to give this some more thought. However, since I want to go to Gencon in 2003, I would have to be Reeally Reeeealy extra sweet to my wife for letting me go to 2 gaming con's in a row. It's her vacation too!
Fortunately, she loves Atlanta.
