Anyone excited about A Game Of Thrones RPG?

It is unlikely I will run it as things stand, but i'll likely purchase it anyway simply because I am a fan of the books and setting.

GOO is offering a free E-book version of the RPG if the print version is preordered! The previews are looking great. I think the mechanics, so far, are right on! Thanks Maester Luwin

I'm pumped for this game. I have read the books, I play the CCG, and collect anything related. I have a signed & numbered limited edition copy of the RPG ordered. Can't wait!

I haven't heard anything about the gaming book.

I've read the three books that are out (and the sample of the next one), and I'm a huge fan of the series. However, I don't think I could run the game unless all the players have read the books too.

Furthermore, I don't need a rulebook for the game - D20 Modern does the job just fine. A gazeteer (basically a GM and player cheatsheet of names, locations, and who speaks what language and where) is all I would be interested in.

I'm definitely anxious for this. I love the series.

I think it's kind of annoying that only preorders come with the electronic version, though. I think every RPG book should come with a PDF version on CD. But that's just me.

I think that GOO has done a great job at adapting the D20 system to this setting. Looking at the previews one can see how GOO has tweaked the d20 format to fit the feeling of the books. I think Mongoose did a great job with the Conan setting & Green Ronin with The Black Company. I feel that anyone that has ever wanted to walk the land of Westeros will be able to do so with this book. By the way if anyone has any suggestions for my campaign please stop by GOO boards & check it out. Thanks Maester Luwin

I felt the same way about the *Black Company* book (I liked the original trilogy quite a bit, the subsequent books less so, but just did not feel all that interested in the d20 supplement).

You should give it a go, it's a fantastic book!

Anyway, not too excited, probably would have been when I had just finished the books tho, and might be more excited when (if) the next book comes out.

Well, yes, i'm excited, but $100 for the deluxe edition? I mean, i really really want it, but i'm afraid to drop that kind of money and not be completely pleased with the results. Besides, i doubt if i would ever run a GOT campaign. I would just bask in the glow of the book and let others look at it from a distance.

Well, it is a deluxe collector's edition, said to contain both Tri-Stat and d20 rules. In addition, you get a free GM's screen and the most recent bonus, you can download the electronic PDF version of the printed book for free.

But being a cheap SOB, I'll wait for the regular d20-only edition book.
