Anyone have a concept for a Divine striker or controller?

I think most of the power source/role combinations have been covered either by classes or discussion *looks at martial controller*.

Does anyone have a concept for a divine striker or a divine controller?

For the divine controller: Bard. At least, the bard class description in Races and Classes sounds like a divine controller to me.

I tend to think of Assassins/Hashishin when I think of what a Divine Striker. Unless someone wants to make a power source called "The Ganja" or "The Weed", they fit quite well with a Divine Striker.

I think if it was specifically called a Hashishin would be fine if WoTC were to go that route.

But people would also wish to play an assassin not based around the Arabic-idea, and just well an assassin. Just a smart, socially suave guy, who knows how to slit throats, drop poison into a king's drink during a masquerade kind of guy.

How about these for divine Strikers;

Hammer of Moradin; a dwarf cleric class that has access to stoneskin type protections, gains 3 faces during battle (that prevent flanking), that can fix enemies in place by melting stone/rock floors, can meld with stone to avoid attacks and that channels divine lightning into the enemy on successful hits with a hammer. Obviously some of these powers need to be available at higher levels.

Bringer of Divine Light.

An unarmoured, whitefire-rimed cleric that throws up to three light stones into the battle-area and can teleport between these locations, can deal divine touch attacks that channel powerful direct-damage, can mesmerise enemies, fixing them in place and can separate single monsters from the main battlefield by surrounding them with a damaging ring of divine white fire.

Divine Striker - The Crusader.

This class specializes less on personal mobility and more upon empowering his strikes to damage and move everybody else around. Awesome blows send foes stumbling or even flying backwards, while divine grace wards away even the most destructive blows until that one time his faith finally wavers. This class specializes in dealing damage, breaking up mob tactics, and a selection of dodging maneuvers based on the theme of 'shrugging it off'.

Divine Controller - The Inquisitor.

With the support of a god comes the awe that the god inspires. Channeling the divine presence of his patron diety, the Inquisitor spreads intimidation across the battlefield, cowing those who dare stand against the Inquisitors holy mission. This class specializes on crippling effects and disabling rebukes with a few spare strikes tossed in just to prove the Inquistor can dish it out.

Paragon Paths. And good ones at that.

Do you have a link for that?

Nope! It's something I heard places and took for truth. I did some searching around, but the only info I could find on an arcane leader was this post on a summoner class.

However, on all the message boards, people seem to say time and again that the devs are saying the Bard will be the arcane leader. So take it for what it's worth.

Divine Controllers;

The Face of God; helmed cleric that can control the battlefield by flipping down different mask/visors that are empowered with the divine essense of different facets of his/her god. These masks can sow fear and awe amongst enemies or can paralyse or cause monsters to flee the battlefield but are in fact empowered by the cleric and are powerless in and of themselves. The face of god can also raise a misty light that robs monsters of the power of speech and prevents them co-ordinating their attacks.
