Anyone know how to make a good Archer

what allows for skirmish damage against undead/constructs? is there a feat?

Swift Hunter (Complete Scoundrel)

Among other things, allows you to apply skirmish damage to your favored enemies, even if they are normally immune to skirmish damage.

Cleric Archers are pretty awesome.

PBS-->Precise Shot-->Rapid Shot
Extend Spell --> Persisent Spell --> DMM Persistent Spell (for Divine Favor, Divine Power)

The Elf domain can get you PBS for free.
Zen Archery lets you use WIS to hit, but you still need 13 dex for Rapid Shot so its not SUPER useful.

To get the MWP (Bow), be an elf, be a Radiant Servant of Pelor, use the war domain, use human paragon (drops a caster level), use the Ruathor PrC, or multiclass one level of something with MWP (yuck drops a caster level).

By taking the feat.
As soon as you qualify for it. A scout 3/ranger 3 with Swift Hunter can take it as his regular 6th level feat.

A Scout 3/Ranger 3 would not qualify for Improved Skirmish at 6th level, as you need a skirmish +2d6/+1 AC to qualify for the feat. At Scout 3/Ranger 3 only has a +1d6/+1 AC. Can you tell me how you are getting this feat at level 6? And can you tell at what level you are picking up Swift Hunter? You could get Swift Hunter at level 6, if that is what you mean...

You're basically right about the progression - you'll not qualify for Swift Hunter before 4th level, thus, you can't take Improved Skirmish at level 6 - unless you take the Foe Hunter feat at first level.
Note that this might well be a campaign-specific feat (FR?), thus, this option might not be generally available.

NM, I found the updated Foe Hunter feat you were talking about.... That would work...

You can build your Scout/Ranger like this...
Human Scout 3/Ranger 6/Scout +1

Feats
(H) Point Blank Shot
(1) Precise Shot
(3) Any --- I would suggest Weapon Focus, Improved Init or Quickdraw
(6) Swift Hunter
(9) Greater Manyshot [Manyshot by virtue of Ranger 6]

At 10th level, you pick your 4th level of Scout, which nets you a bonus feat, and Improved Skirmish states that you can pick it as one of the Scout's bonus feats. :)
