D&D 4E Anyone make a Binder class for 4E?

This way, you can get cheap pacts even without the Augmented Pacts feat, but also if you do have the feat you are getting cheaper AND more powerful pacts.
I'd want cost reductions for those who have invested in Pact magic, rather than just very charismatic people personally.

One free vestige every two Pact feats, or something.

One thing to note: Rituals all have component costs as well as purchase costs to learn the Rituals. Should this reduction in price affect both, and at the same rate? After 5 feats and everything is free, then how does the Binder learn about more Vestiges? Does he automatically know any he finds, or should there still be a nominal fee to be able to learn about new Vestiges?

It is my opinion that the market price should remain untouched by any feats. Just because you're really focused on binding doesn't make the tomes that teach the specific methods and signs (etc) any cheaper.

As long as market price remains set, the component cost can go all the way to 0gp as far as I'm concerned. What do others think?

Fine by me. 20% reduction to material cost per feat but you still need to buy the ritual to start with.

One quibble on price... the 1st level Vestiges cost a lot to learn for a 1st level character, unless you're a cleric or wizard and get them for free. Is this OK? Should we change it?

Could the OP edit and update the OP with the lastest information so I don't have to thread surf? Thx!

PS - great work everybody! Binder was the best class I never played in 3.x and I'll be damned if it falls by the wayside in 4e :)

I think that's fine; it seems to me that clerics and wizards are the most likely to have come across vestiges in their catechisms/studies and would thus be most likely to start out with knowledge of them.

100gp.

Maybe we need to check through similarly leveled rituals to see what they cost. Pitty the costs are spead out instead of all being in one place for easy reference.

Level 1 Rituals: Silence: 75gp, Secret Page 50gp, Magic Mouth 50gp, Gentle Repose 50gp, Comp Languages 50gp, Animal Messenger 50gp.

So 50gp for 1st level Vestiges Market Price. Forgot about the component, but quick glance looks about 10gp. However, if we go like the Rituals and you need 50gp for a book, then you can buy the book and a single Ritual, but you can't actually use the stupid thing yet.

Perhaps Binding itself should be a feat which allows you to Bind Vestiges to yourself. This feat could also give you two 1st level Vestiges when the Feat is taken. Should this also give 20% of Component Cost or start that up separately? Classes which are normally granted Rituals for free [Wizard and Cleric] could instead choose Binding rather than Ritual Casting.
