Anyone own Gary Gygax's Necropolis?

Mithriltooth

First Post
Is it anything like the old Desert Of Desolation series or Tomb Of Horrors? Better even?
Im thinking about buying it and possibly running it in Ravenloft as well. :D

Opinions are welcome...
Thanks in advance.

I have it. It's really a great module, IMHO. The chapters and adventures in it are very well done. The only complaint that I have, and it's a common one, is the immesse text density you, as DM, have to absorb. But read it through two or three times, you'll find great ways of using both the adventure and the world of Khermit as well.

I own it and look forward to running it when my players advance to sufficient level. From what I've read on these boards, it is a real player-killer though.

By the way, how do you pronounce Khermit? Is the 'h' silent, like in Kermit the Frog? Or is the 'k' silent? Thanks.

I have it, and love it. It is a richly detailed adventure with wonderful supplements. Old spells such as Exorcism and Spirit wrack along with new ones. Old monsters such as shadow demons and new ones like guardian devas. Plus a wealth of information for an Egyptian setting.

I will try to check on the pronounciation. Personally, I lean more towards the 'kh" sound found in Hebrew and Arabic. (Similar to the ch in Bach or loch. )
