Anyone playing Shadows of Undrentide yet?

Just got it tonight and I guess here's as good a place as any to ask this: anyone else noticed a bit of bugginess? The cursor on mine flashes on and off rapidly, with a small block of graphics or text "attached" to the pointer. And the sound is kinda uneven and tends to skip.

I bought it on Wednesday, and won it on Thurday night. The campaign is great. I'm already replaying it with a lawful evil dwarf fighter whom I eventually plan on multiclassing into a blackguard.

I can't wait to see what user-created modules people come up with using the SoU features, especially since user-created prestige classes are possible.

Non-spellcasting prestige classes, though, right? Still, I suppose any prestige classes is better than none!

Roughly how many hours did you take to win it?

The campaign probably took me around 15-20 hours to win. I played it most of the day Tuesday, and a good chunk of Wednesday as well, since I had both those days off.

And, sadly, it isn't possible to create spellcasting PrCs because of the way the NWN engine is set up. So looks like you'll have to wait until NWN2 if you want to see PrCs like the Archmage, Arcane Trickster, etc.

Although non-spellcasting PrCs should certainly be possible, such as the Duelist, Dwarven Defender, etc. I can't wait to see which PrCs get converted into NWN format.

Had my first MP game this morning. My players really like the new spells, although I haven't had a chance to bring in a lot of new content yet. Looks like a decent expansion, and I'm looking forward to trying the campaign online with some friends.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone comes up with a way to work around the non-spellcasting pretige class limitation.

I also feel that the expansion campaign is much better than the original.

You could use a series of feats, but it's a giant kludge. There is really no way around it - unfortunately Bioware hard-coded a lot of the class features into the engine, spellcasting being one of them. They have also stated on numerous occasions that they have no intention of "fixing" the editing of spellcasting progressions until NWN2.

As I mentioned in the other thread - that's what I meant kludgy work arounds (as long as I'm not the person doing the work around :D)

I never expected someone from the community to change the engine itself. That's what "workaround" means - a kludgy (or sometimes elegant) solution to the engine's limitations :D

I'm playing it and having fun. My only beef is with the lame begining set up, yeah a bunch of kobolds your 1st level character can beat rob, and take out a 17-20th level wizard or sorcerer.

similar problem with the story of the original game. But hey after the set up i'm having fun.
