I should be working on the 31st. My work made the very stupid decision (in my opinion) to close the office for the entire week of the 24th then open on Monday the 31st and close again on Tuesday the 1st. Of course, nearly the entire company requested that day off (including me). Never did it occur to them to officially close for just one more day, so there's probably going to be three people in the office.

I recently became a manager and had the fun job of telling one of my employees that somebody had to come in on the 31st. Literally everyone in my department requested it off.

Nope. The last day I worked was last Thursday (12/20)...and I'd wanted to take that day off, too, but I couldn't.

I work at an ad agency; we're closed from 12/24 until 1/1, reopening 1/2. So, I'm off for, what, 11 straight days, and only had to spend one vacation day to do it.

I go back to work on 1/2, then leave late afternoon on the 3rd for a long weekend at my in-laws' place in Florida (but, sounds better than it is...we're going because my wife's stepmom has cancer, and is not doing well at all).

I burned all my vacation time due to the birth of my twins.

Normally I would save it for the end of the year, but not this year.

My second full time job is a convience store so yeah- I understand it. As normal... we will be the only store open in town so we will be busy to top it off.

i have 3 deadlines on the 7th of january, plus an exam the week afterwards, and i'll be travelling back from italy to uk from the 3rd to the 5th (long story). that means that i will spend the best part of the next few days working.
