Ok, let's say F is friend 1, G is friend 2, and O is an Ogre in a 10' high dungeon room:
-G--
----
-F--
-O--
----
Now let's say Friend 2 moves 10 feet as such, marked by 1 and 2:
-G--
-1--
-F2-
-O--
----
Does the Ogre get an AoO from him due to reach, or does his buddy provide enough cover to prevent it? Note that the Ogre is basically as tall as the dungeon so he can't make overhead attacks.
My basic question is, can an opponent with reach be denied an attack of opportunity from a character that's blocking another moving character?
It's possible to say no because a medium creature would only provide 1/4 cover to another medium creature when a large creature is involved. For those of you who say that, if the moving character is a small creature in front of a medium party member, would that change anything?
If none of that floats your boat, change the ogre to a medium-sized polearm fighter. Does he get an AoO?
