Well, now, I'd disagree there.

If I move out of a threatened square or take certain actions while threatened, I provoke an AoO.

If I move out of a non-threatened square or take certain actions while not threatened, I don't provoke an AoO.

It's not that I provoke an AoO, but nobody can make one on me; unless I'm threatened, I don't provoke one in the first place.

What I said was that threatening doesn't "generate" an AoO and as you said later
"It's not that I provoke an AoO,but.. ." - that was my point.

My point was that merely threatened doesn't provoke an AoO certain actions do.


The fact that a character is standing there with a sword (i.e., threateneing) doesn't generate an AoO.


In fact later in my same post I said the same thing you just did:

Now in order to "make" an AoO you have to threaten.
