Appalling conduct regarding DriveThru/DRM

I've grabbed the Free Sorcery and Steam, and the $5 Dragon Lore, and am pretty happy (and a number of other freebies, including the Book of Eldritch Might, which brought me up to 3.5 with that book).

I would certainly prefer not having the cut and paste limit and am glad Malhavoc removed that restriction; I hope others do as well.

Can we get confirmation that the cut and paste restriction has been removed from Necromancer products?

I already own a few in print, but am going to be running one of their modules in an online game and would be willing to spend the money on the PDF if I knew that I could make use of it to share descriptions and such with the players.

I tried to get Sorcery and Steam...firgured I'd give them a test. Could their site easily explain how to use this product to someone with no knowledge of DRM and how to register specific computers. After 30 minutes and nothing, I gave up. I'm not afraid to admit I'm computer illiterate (net stuff aside), but it *IS* an obligation, if you want business, to show your customer how to use your product if you expect them to buy it.

Sent a letter telling them how I had trouble and eventually gave up.

No response.

So, I'll stick w/ RPGNow whom I've had ZERO problems with, when ordering PDFs. :)

Well, aside from asking on the NG forums, a good way ot find out might be to grab the free Rappan Athuk I when it's available for free later this month.

Cool. I've grabbed some free stuff but have not bought anything from DTRPG yet.

I keep checking their website. Is there an easy way to see what is being offered for free? The only way I've been able to do this is by seeing and ad and then doing a search for the product. Am I missing something on the website?

I must sya I am really happy to see things have calmed down. I may be very against DRM but I was even more against all the negativity and attacks that were shown in the early threads. This thread is just another example of why I keep coming back here when I find forums in general to be rude soapboxes. Keep up the good work guys, and thanks for helping a real cynic stay away from the final cliff.

THat's tricky. I also can only find this out by frequently clicking the banner.

They claim to offer one new free product every week, so it might be worth checking DTRPG's site weekly.

That was my plan (and probably their intent behind the free offerings), but when I just check the site I don't see any reference to this week's free product. Sometimes doing a search for "free" will turn up a manageable list that I can sort thru.

Mostly, I've only found out about the free products from threads here. I'll start paying better attention to the banners too.

The free offering is on the bottom left of the blue bordered area of DTRPG's front page http://www.drivethrurpg.com/catalog/index.php .

So far the free products are the only ones that I have downloaded, and then only of product I am considering in print. (With the single exception of Sorcery & Steam, which I already own in print - the ability to print out hand-outs of the prestige classes to folks who have taken them being the key point there, and, well, it was free...)
