Apprentice Level Paladin. Lay on Hands?

Apprentice Level Paladin have Lay on Hands ability. But the description says he uses it as a level zero. So he cannot heal any HP at all. Am I missing something?

I think you should just ignore the bit about treating him as level zero.

I'm guessing they meant this to be Apprentice= 1/2 level (Since 2 apprentices in a class=1 level), so 1/2 x charisma bonus.

That makes sense, and has some kind of precident (item creation with cantrips/orisons). Cool!
