Let's see what sort of attribute levels we think are appropriate for a standard D&D adventure campaign.

It's going to be tough to outline every possible attribute combination here, or every way of calculating the sum of six values based on a sliding bell curve, so please pick an option that comes closest.

I encourage my players to use the standard 25-point array (15,14,13,12,10,8). BUT!!! I also supply them with slighly overpowered feats at 1st level. So, bear that in mind with my vote.

I like the standard 28-point buying system, with a single extra point randomly applied to one of the six attributes afterward.

Some times it is the game that decides. :)

If you want heros/special characters/someone above the norm you adjust higher. If you want to have run-of-the-mill characters and work with their actions you go more average numbers.

As of 18 votes into the poll, I'm surprised at the lack of high-end power player responses so far. I expected more 18s, based on other messages I've read on ENforums.

I like 25-pt buy myself, so chose the 15-16/8 option as it's closest to the default array -- but I really don't care what the exact distribution is as long as it's 25 points. If a player wants 18,12,10, 9, 8, 8, that's fine by me.
