Arcana Unearthed or 3.5 PH???

Both.

Although, before I continue, I should point out that I run one of White Wolf's Wolfpacks (demo teams) and I have for about four or five years now.

The only reason I'm buying 3.5 first is because it comes out first, pure and simple release dates.

Although I do not have to pay for AU, I would if I could buy a copy before I would get a copy mailed to me.

I like a lot of Monte's work, both D&D and non-D&D, and his name, usually, stamps a "buy it" in my brain.

In fact, if all goes as planned, I'm going to be running AU, either my own homebrew using some of it's, or most of it's bits, or The Diamond Throne setting.

My weekend DM is, right now, thinking the same thing as we're a couple sessions away from, finally, finishing Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil. But only time will tell, although I am bribing him a bit on that.

Quite a few posts here with a fiar amount for AU.

One thing I notice is that others already have their 3.5 material (including myself.)

I intend to pick up AU soon though. It looks like it adds a lot of interesting options to the game.

I already have AU on pre-order.

I'm never going to buy 3.5.

Why do I need more of the same ol', same ol'? AU has a lot of fresh ideas, while 3.5 is just the umpteenth retread of dwarves and elves and such.

I used to buy Monte's stuff sight unseen. But lately he has been wandering furhter and further from the realm of useful. That is not to say that AU will be no good, but it will be more of what I don't need. The reason I will not buy AU is the same as the reason I will not buy book of the rightous, the FFG hardbacks besides TnT and TnT2. They are "useful" but not USEFUL. That is to say I will not use the whole book but only little parts of it.

I think some of the core rules in 3.0 are squirrly. Many of my players have told me that rule xyz does not make sense. 3.5 fixes about 90% of the quibbles my players had. Therefore I find that the 3.5 PHB would be the most useful.

I am still trying to wrap my mind around the purpose of UA. Personally I think Monte is rapidly going into left field and the thing keeping Malhavoc afloat is pure name recognition.

Thats my $357.32

Aaron.

I bought a couple things from Malhavok, and they didn't really do much for me, bought Return To Temple and it was a very big turn off. I kept expecting to like the stuff, but just didn't. I finally realized I was buying based on the name.
I don't think I'll get AU, but I will check it out. I didn't like the way the design diary started by making a comment about people liking small races and some of the other comments from them.
I dunno, just doesn't seem to be something useful to me.

(I've got a better tolarence for furries, but most of my players hate them to no end. Besides, I got Furries in Oathbound. :)

Good points. I only have used pieces here and there of Malhavoc products. Not enough to justify (in my mind) to buy the printed version. I will have to wait until i see some reviews and such to make my final decision.

Peace and smiles :)
