Arcane Multiclassing and Prohibited Schools

Sparafucile

First Post
If you multiclass both Sorcerer and Wizard (for Ultimate Magus) and you decide to specialize on the Wizard side and ban two schools, is there any rule that says your Sorcerer spell list must also ban those schools?

Thanks in advance.

No, there is no such restriction.

In fact there was a 3.0 Character Builder book that recommended doing precisely that (take 1 level of Sorcerer to use Scrolls/Wands from prohibitted schools).

Sorcs can't specialise so no banning. So Sorc can freely choose.

It is a class specific restriction - not a character specific one.

Each class has it's own spell list (available and known) and should be treated as such.
