Anybody got a hunch, know any good rumors or heard anything real about what's supposed to be in the upcoming Arcane Power book? I've read the basic description on Amazon - new options for wizards, warlocks, sorcerers, bards and swordmages - but has anyone got anything more granular than that, with respect to the new builds in particular? Or is this product just a total mystery at the moment?

We know we will get the summoner wizard and the tome wizard implement, the ensnaring swordmage built, and at least one more pact for the warlock. Also familiars for all arcane classes.

Cool. I assume the summoner wizard probably functions like the Beastmaster Ranger? A striker with ranged attacks that are flavored as being delivered by monsters of various power levels? Or do you think it retains the controller role, using beasts to heard enemies, etc?

Ehm it summons creatures using powers with the summoning keyword (as does the invoker and as of today the druid). Nothing like a beast companion. Read around

Hmmm...a God Fragment paragon path. That leads me to believe that the new pact will be celestial based. It's still arcane, so I'm think that the warlock will be stealing power to fuel its spells from deceased deities or is something akin to the ur-priest prestige class from 3e.

It could be that the new Warlock pact is indeed the Vestige Pact, bringing the Warlock even closer to the binder.

My best guess is an "astral" pact, given that it appears to be either deity (God Fragment) or devil (Hellbringer) based. I think you're right about the flavour, though, definitely stealing power or drawing it from dead gods.
