Arcane Trickster

I've got a third level rogue; I'm thinking of going Aracne Trickster.

I think it'll be a blast to play, but is it so underpowered to be frustrating?

As long as you can keep your most important rogue skills maxed throughout your wizard/sorcerer levels, you'll be fine.

Wasn't frustrating for me. Sure you can't do as much as a full level wizard or rogue, but you can do more then either of them. Underpowered is not a bad thing.

With Practiced Spellcaster, your spells will still be useful, and the rogue skills can be very nice.

Even without practiced spellcaster you'll be good.

I just gone and created me a human Rogue 3 / Illusionist 5 / Arcane Trickster 9 / Pious Templar 1 and he rocks.

Evasion and Mettle, coupled with some lovely equipment to boost saves means no damage on a succesful save.

Hope you havn't got any ranks in Decipher Script yet, since that's a good way to spend the wizard skill points apart from the usual suspects, i.e. Concentration, Knowledge, Spellcraft.

Not a problem, but I'll probably be spending all of my Wizard skill points on the usual suspects (since I am not spending any of my Rogue skill points on those skills).

Any good recomendations how to build an Arcane Trickster, level for level?
Probably gonna run one in a 3.5 Freeport game.
