is that just for rules consistency? they don't have any other melee attacks, so i don't think it matters. i might as well just change it anyway to avoid confusion.

Now would be a good time to discuss variants (which, we may possibly want to include as "red text" in the submission) as proposed above.

Here are the variants I proposed earlier, written up a bit more:

Sniper Bush: This variant archer bush lacks the thorn volleys of the standard bush, instead firing a single dart with deadly precision. The sniper bush possesses the sneak attack ability of the rogue, dealing an additional +xd6 points of damage. Its single dart regrows in 1d4 rounds.

Burning Bush: This bright-red variant of the archer bush secretes a chemical similar to alchemist's fire. Its thorn volleys catch fire once launced, dealing an extra 1d6 points of fire damage. CR +1.

I'm thinking the sniper bush's sneak attack should probably be only +1d6. Maybe +2d6 if we're feeling nasty, but that'd probably warrant a CR +1.

That's probably reasonable. Should it retain the thorns attack, or be less "thorny"?

well, i'd say it balances pretty well when you remove the thorn spray, even at 2d6 sneak attack. keep in mind that it probably won't be attacking every round! (of course, neither would a normal archer bush...)
