well you can do what i am doing, which is take archivist to lv5, then take conjurer wizard variant to get those bonuses to my summons, then take alienist. my character will be taking mystic theurge later on, so those alienist levels will be adding to my wizard level for spellcasting purposes. but you could just as easily add them to your archivist or alternate if you so choose.
