Well, non-PHB 1 classes are meant to be somewhat complex and a little bit out of basic rule, aren't they?

Nothing wrong with that as long as the complex rules are also clear cut. If they are both complex and ambiguous (or easily perceived as ambiguous, even if they really aren't), that is what leads to problems.
