Are Devas Bald?

If I were to play a deva, I think I'd start out looking completely human, or nearly so. Then, as the PC went up in levels, I'd have the character start looking more and more "deva". Maybe go bald in mid-epic, or have the hair become somehow supernatural (e.g., blowing in non-existent breezes, moving on its own, changing hues, etc.).

This is also in line with how our group's figure painter portrayed them. We had one in our set of PC figures and she looks like an elf, basically.

Unfortunately, there are no Deva WotC plastic minis ("yet," I hope). And all of the Aasimar/Angelic minis are either wearing plate mail or blowing trumpets. None of them work for my cloth-armored Deva Avenger.

The 'hair' is definitely coming out through a hole in the helmet. I've worn metal helms and that would definitely not be comfortable or practical. I think it's a hair-like decoration, similar to the (real) Viking practice of putting horsetails on their helms.

In any event, the Deva I'm playing is bald. It was just cooler than having the racial marks on his hair.

If the book says they can grow hair, I guess a shaved head is just part of the iconic look, much like the long hair for elves or the mecha armor for dwarves.

I think bald devas look too much like goliaths. both males and females would be better with short silver, golden or coppery hair.

Having recently purchased Divine Power, I discovered that the Cleric Paragon Path "Holy Emissary" does indeed have a picture of a Deva with hair.

I don't remember ever seeing a picture of a male deva with hair, but I've seen plenty of female devas with hair.
