Are HPs Worth the Realism?

I don't wanna hijack Tequila's thread, though it might be a good idea to keep a lookout for a decent CP2020 game in future. Not too many 'round.

The reason I like CP2020 as oppose to Shadowrun or D20 Modern is because of it's grim and gritty realism and lethal combat, without the massive disparity of level-based systems or the unnecessary fantasy elements. I just can't get into the idea of trolls wandering the streets of the future and characters with spells, myself. Oh. And CPv3 was pretty darn average too.

Anyhow, back to realistic wounds. Much to learn from CP2020 there. ;)

Thanks for all the input and suggestions! I've decided to drop the injury categories and all related complication.
Good call. As I understand it, death spirals aren't actually all that realistic anyway!

glass.

I think it looks too complicated, too many categories, and way way too much dice rolling. All the extra dice rolling will slow the game down.

I've considered a "wound" level system at 25%.
If you are below 25% you get -1 to hit/damage -1 caster level -1 skill checks, -1 saves.

While it may add realism, I think it complicates the game a little, and I'm not sure it's necessary.
