Are there any feats that allow a Sorc to bypass the metamagic restriction?

I really wanna create a metamagic sorceror, but the fact that they have to concentrate for a full round before hand puts me off. Are there any feats that counteract this?

They don't have to concentrate for one full round, casting a spell modified by metamagic is a full round action for a sorcerer, slightly different.

Example:

Casting summon monster III takes one full round meaning that the spell is complated one full round after the initiative count they began their spell on.

Casting a 1 action spell modified by metamagic, like say a stilled magic missle however is a full round action meaning the takes place on the same initiative count on the same round in which it was began, only the sorcerer is limited to a five foot step. Not really a big deal at all.

(Sorry if you already knew this, but the tone of your post led me to believe it wasn't clear.)

I found that a Sorcerer who uses their meta-magic feats for buff spells and the like works out well though. Occassionally casting the full round spell when needed in combat.

Of course, I usually wind up casting those full round spells while flying with improved invisibility and a ton of buff spells on me.

Of course, that's just one way of doing it...

This is the realm of house rules, but I have tried creating a Metamagic Mastery feat for Sorcerers. Basically, when you take it, you pick a metamagic feat you already have. When using that feat, you negate the casting time increase, but you still get the spell level increase. The feat isn't tested yet, but it looks safe enough to me that it's worth trying.

The biggest difference it's likely to make is that it will allow Sorcerers to Quicken (with Quicken Mastery).

Seems like a good ability for 10th level sorcerors to gain as a bonus feat. Probably give it to bards at 10th level too, quickening spells is nice, plus it helps keep sorcerors as sorcerors (not taking prcs, or at least providing a reason to stay sor).

Mind if I snatch that?

I created a sorcerous mastery feat:

You are particularly adept at manipulating certain spells, and can metamagic them quickly.
Pre: Sorcerous magic use.
Benefits: You may select 3+cha bonus spells that you know. These spells have become so intuitive for you that you can use any metamagic feats that you know on them without increasing the casting time to a full round. You still have to fulfil all the other conditions for metamagic by using a higher level spell slot.
Normal: Under normal circumstances if a sorcerer wants to metamagic a spell, it becomes a full-round action.
