Are you going to buy an EXTRA copy of the PHB?

When 3.0 came out (seems like only yesterday), I purchased an extra copy to keep handy for the group in general. Do you guys do the same? Is it a good idea?

Players should buy their own copies of the PHB, so why should I have to buy them one as DM, when I already need to buy two other books so they get most of the fun?

First let me state, I am still unsure if I am buying 4e as of yet...


If I do, I usually only buy 1 and then start collecting additional copies from secondary markets. I currently have over 20 copies of 3.5e PHBs

I won't, because the artwork on the front is totally ugly, so one copy will be enough, and I expect nobody else among my friends to want to buy another one unless really really needed...

The other members of my group can all buy their own copies. I don't see a need to subsidize them.

i ordered two packs from amazon. costs as much as one package would cost here(dollar/NOK ratio lowest it's been in 30 years now ). Even though i might have to wait 4-8 working days to get it... i don't think i will have any trouble re-selling the second package to my friends for the same price that one splatbook costs.

So i wonder if I'm going to buy a PHB if i can get my hands on it, at a local store.
