D&D (2024) Are you going to buy the new 2024 D&D Core Books

Do you plan on getting the new D&D core books in 2024?

I voted no, but I might buy them used. But I'm still pissed at WotC about the OGL, I don't trust them as a business, and I don't trust them to put out quality content.

I will either continue with my heavily house ruled 5E, or use the alternative I am working on, if I can get it to work.

The only PHB stuff I'm interested in is easily house ruled into current 5E games, so that's a pass. Unless it's on deep discount on Amazon or a gift.

The MM is basically useless to me. I homebrew my own monsters and have stacks of monster books to draw inspiration from, so that's a pass. Unless it's on deep discount on Amazon or a gift.

The DMG is the one I'll actually keep an eye on as the revisions and reorganization there might make it worth checking out, depending on reviews.
Generally where I'm at. I also make very little use of the MM.

Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I've already bought the 2014 PHB twice, so I would need a new one eventually anyway. The changes to the PHB are overwhelmingly positive thus far, I'm always down for new monsters, and I am excited to see what they do with the DMG, as it is currently more or less a blank slate.

I'll just be getting them on DDB, though, so they'll be like 25 bucks each probably.

PHB is a certainty. DMG depends on how good it is, but from the stated goals, I'm at least interested. MM is a doubtful, unless they do a major overhaul.
From the sound of it, the MM ia going to be a hugely different book: 300 Monsters in the 2024 MM, over 500 in the 2024 one, massive overhauls to the stat blocks likely.
