I'm defintely going to buy the PH, if it gathers all the errata together in one place, fixes the bard and ranger, fiddles with feats and skills, and fixes the broken spells.

I hope it will include the OA version of the Monk, which is more flexible than the PH one, the version of Wild Shape in MotW, and Wild feats and Divine feats.

this is pretty much exactly what i'm expecting this book to be... and while i already HAVE the splats, i've often thought it would be good if it was in one place...

My purchase of these books will depend on if they encompass a large amount of work done to them. This includes heavily revised or completely written rules as well as new content. My hope is that these books are being revised to truely unify the core system more and create a more consistent and enhanced system.

Hopefully they will supply standard template formats for statblocks and monster writeups. Maybe we will see ECL become a core rule and see the standard action eliminated from the rules.

I'll be buying them. At least one of the games I play in will be switching to the new material.

I'm unsure if I'll encorporate any of it into the game I run; I'll have to wait and see some specifics.

Truth be told, I'd most likely buy them anyway. Hell, I bought Enemies and Allies.

I'd say that it's guaranteed that ECL will become a core rule.

I would like the whole standard/move equivalent/full/partial action mess to be cleaned up, but I don't know if I'd count on it. The way M&M and Spycraft do it, with only half and full actions, is ideal IMO.

Yes, but I'm one of those "new" players you've always heard about. (: Started with the white box, sorta stopped after the 2e core books. Was sorta peeved when the 3e books went from $20 to $30, and a revised book ought to reel me in. Definitely the PHB, maybe the others.

Yep, going to buy all three. For my entertainment dollar, its the best bang for the buck. Think about how many hours you have gamed, and divide that into $20 (or $30, depending on when you bought your books), and I think you will find you are dealing with cents per hour of entertainment.
:D

I agree, the amount of money spent on the core books compared to the number of hours enjoyment I get from them make them a bargain. I also recognize that RPGs need to have the rules revised once in a while as people figure out what works and what doesn't work for them.

That said I seriously doubt I'll be buying the revised books. I don't think they're going to make enough changes to justify me purchasing it.

Yes! YES!! YES!!!

My players will try to resist, but I have notoriously low Will saves against such temptations. At best, I can hope to wait for the second printing. (Great idea, BTW.)

My vote's for Underdog, no question.
