Arena Fighter clarification (and other stuff)

(Oh dear, I should know better than to think I could write all this without several people answering before me. :))

I'll let Wicht answer that since the rules are new and everybody is learning, but per letter of the rules the only way of changing path is by sacrificing a tier per path transgressed on the spectrum from Light to Darkness.

Schematically it goes like this. (also when exchanging Light with Darkness, and Honor with Yakuza)

From Light to Honor - 1 tier sacrificed.
From Light to Sash - 2 tiers sacrificed.
From Light to Yakuza - 3 tiers sacrificed.

And since you cannot sacrifice a tier without going to white belt, you wouldn't normally be able to switch.

By the rules it seems possible to go from other paths into Light or Darkness by sacrificing tiers even if the fighter hasn't defeated a Dark/Yakuza or a Light/Honor fighter respectively. Is such a defeat still necessary, Wicht?

switching paths normally takes a loss of a tier according tot he letter of the law. I was just gonna be gracious to Jackal as he had not fought a fight since advancing but I guess its a moot point.

I had not considered people dropping a tier to switch to light/dark, but by the spirit of the rules I would say that a fighter should have to defeat the enemy to enter the paths. They are thus the exception.

I knew you in all likelihood you were going to let Jackal switch path, which is why I specified it was "by the letter of the law". :)

I agree that fighters should still defeat a fighter of the proper path to enter Light or Darkness, I'm just rulelawyering to make sure everything has been thought of. :)

One minor thing, reword Bribe Judges so it's obvious that the Judge's character doesn't get hte money (ie, it poofs) unless they are supposed to get the coin.

wow I didn't mean to start all of this.

I just thought that you had till the start of your next match to decided what path you were going to take. So I was wondering if someone changed there mind and they havn't started their next fight that they could just choose a different path and not necessarily switching paths because they didn't fight yet with there new one...

Also a clarification as to how Dirty Tricks interact with FoF.

Does it just change the honored fighter's first attack to a newly generated one?

Dirty tricks cancel out the fist of fury and the fist of fury is lost. This seems extreme but thats where the balance comes in.
