Aristocrat as PC Core Class

What about the Noble class from Star Wars and Wheel of Time? I think that is a fine PC Class for an aristrocratic character.

They have one huge drawback that makes them unsuitable for use in any of my game.

They are in either Star Wars or Wheel of Times, both being books I don't own. I also don't intend to use them as D&D sourcebook, and I would not want to carry along a 400-page book just for 3 pages of rule for 1 PC class.

Beside, I prefer my own variant anyway.

I seem to recall that the revised SW Noble was posted on the WOTC website, once upon a time. It might be worth looking for if only for ideas for your own class.

You're speaking of that ?

They had the same rough idea as myself (inspire confidence and stuff), but less developped. A median Ref saves (medium saves don't exist in D&D). A small list of bonus feat. Agian, that's similar to mine. The coordinate ability is nice, and I may try to turn it into a feat.

However, I don't like the favors and resource abilities that are always mechanically put into these kind of classes (like Mongoose's noble, or Rokugan's courtier). These things are IMHO what should be dependent on the story and roleplay, not on the class and the level.

My Homebrew Aristocrat got

-. A STIPEND of level x 500 bonus gp (ie lv 1 +100 gp Lv 12 +1200gp)

-. Bardic Voice (which I will now replace with Gez's Leaders Voice)

-, Heraldry - Bardic Knowledge (Nobility)

-. +2 Cha-based skills at level 2 6 and 10 (max +6)

-. Leadership at Level 5

Aristocrat/Noble

 Bonus: Leadership feat at lvl 6, you can have this feat more than once

 At lvl 7 and every 3 lvls after (10, 13, 16, 19): +1 to leadership score (total of +5)

 Max starting gold +100 (6d8x10+100=580). +100gp/lvl gained (an ARIS 2 who makes lvl3 gains 300gp).
