Arrow of piercing - effect?

Hey guys, could anyone tell what the arrow of piercing effect is? my DM sais that for every half-meter it goes throug a living creature, it does d4 damage. but Im not sure on that are realistic(btw sry of my bad english, Im just a Dane ). are there a speciefict rule for damage/effect of arrow of piercing, or is it just house rules?

I'm not familiar with the arrow of piercing, but the mechanics you gave (1d4 per 50cm) look like a house rule (or custom item) to me... I haven't seen something like that before.

Edit: I found a reference to "arrow of piercing" in Dragon magazine issue 135. This may be similar, I don't know...

Sounds like house rules.

You may be interested in a weapon enchantment ("exit wound") in Complete Warrior that lets you do blow-through attacks. It's funky.
