Leo pauses for a moment after he crosses the threshold, sniffing the odor distastefully. He catches his breath, and then quickly casts Wizard's Sidestep on himself, just in case. When the others arrive, he trods carefully down the argent staircase.

Guerino, cursing continously in Italian, proceeds but a few steps behind him - or behind his image, at least.

OOC: Casting a formulaic level 10 spell at +14, the die comes up 1d10=7 so he easily makes it (with the aura and all).

The Baron nods, still a little shocked. He lets you go without any further problems.

You wander down the tight stairway. Dust, crumbling mortar and the bones of rats and other animals litters the ground, and you travel for quite a distance in a downward direction. After a minute of wandering the stairs you find yourself in a large, circular chamber. The remains of a circular table lies at its center, nothing more than scraps of wood now. some locked cabinets sit on the sides of the walls, looking a lot more well-looked after.

A large harp sits at the side of the chamber, with a crumbling chair behind it. The harp, you notice, is singing gently; a beautiful song in German.

Across the room, another short stairway leads up to another room, Four doors stand around this chamber, with Sigils marked clearly upon them, despite the age of the large wooden doors. One of the doors is slightly open; fresh blood leaks from the crack, staining the floor and door around it.

Gorgamesh concentrates as he looks around him. With a quiet voice he casts a spell, trying to detect magical auras, excluding his companion’s auras.
Is there another presence here? Another magic user who wish to remind hidden or maybe the area is magical by nature.

(Int+Vim – sense spell)

There are a lot of things you can do with Intellego Vim magic - but each spell can only do one thing. Here are some examples, based on your question,

In ArM, a "magical aura" is a supernatural aura that permeates a place, and is attuned to Magic. There are auras attuned to Faerie (faerie auras), the Infernal, and the Divine, too. I know that's not what you meant, but just in case here is a spell to determine its power - but this one detects an Infernal aura, since I reckon that's the aura we're in...

Gauge the Infernal Power Intellego Vim 3
Range: Touch, Duration: Momentary, Target: Individual
Sense the strength of an Infernal aura the caster is standing in. Similar spells that reveal the strength of Magical, Faerie, or Divine auras exist.
(Base 2, +1 touch)

A person does not have an aura, but InVi effects can detect magical creatures and wizards. Wizards are detected by counting their highest Art as the level of the spell, and creatures have a stat called Might that also counts as the level of the spell. Again, however, these require two different spells - as detecting creatures is not the same as detecting wizards (which is not the same as detecting spells). Detecting Infernal creatures is also possible, but demons (which are one type of Infernal creatures) are immune from detection. Detecting Divine creatures should also be possible, but shows great audacity, and detecting Fey creatures is also possible - but again, each requires a seperate spell. So - here are two spells to detect Magical creatures and magi.

Sense the Might of the Elements Intellego Vim 25
Range: Personal, Duration: Momentary, Target: Vision
This spell allows the caster to see any creature of Magic Might as surrounded by a glowing nimbus of light, stronger light indicating a more powerful creature. The spell both detects creatures of Might and allows the caster to gauge their Might.
(B5, +4 Vision)

Sense the Might of Wizard Intellego Vim 25
Range: Personal, Duration: Momentary, Target: Vision
This spell allows the caster to see any wizard as surrounded by a glowing nimbus of light, stronger light indicating a more powerful magus (a stronger highest Art). The spell both detects wizards and allows the caster to gauge their Might.
(B5, +4 Vision)

These are very high-level spells to cast spontaneously. You can detect strong creatures/magi with lower level spells.

Note also that the spell has to penetrate any Magic Resistance the target has in order to detect it, so it isn't enough to just cast the spell - you need to have enough Penetration too. Your penetration is your (casting roll - spell level), or (casting roll/2 - spell level) for a spontaneous spell; roughly. So you can see that even with your impressive +18 bonus to the casting total, you can cast a spontaneous spell of about level 10, or 5 with penetration 5 - that's just not enough to detect anything. To really detect things you need higher Arts, formulaic spells, and to develop your Penetration ability.

Sense of the Lingering Magic is level 30, very difficult for you.

To detect the strength, try one of Yair's spells below, which you could do.

Just give me a stamina +intellego+vim + d10 and divide by two.

While Gorgamesh casts his spell, Leo surveys the room. Going around the table's remains, he stands before the cabinets. He first tries opening the cabinets with an Unseen Arm. Seeing that they're locked, he growls and reaches a paw to touch one, while making another incantation. If even this fails, he snarls and tries to pull the cabinet out.

OOC: As a low-level formulaic spell, Unseen Arm is cast easily without Fatigue, and since I think a simple die is needed (no?) I won't bother rolling.

Leo tries to force the locks open with a spell. I think this is something like

Opening the Way for the Mystic Sage ReTe 10
This spell opens a door's lock (or any other lock) with a touch.
(B2, +2 metal, +1 precision, +1 touch)

This is more demanding; Leo has a Casting Total of +14. For some reason InvisibleCastle isn't working for me right now - so please roll for me. If this is not enough to open the cabinet, which I suspect will be the case, Leo will try to jam the cabinets free by raw magical force,

Opening the Bothersome Cabinet ReHe 5
This spell powerfully draws open a cabinet, chest, door, or so on, with enough force to shatter the wood around locks, metal bands, and similar bindings.
(B3, +1 touch, +1 great force)

Again, I don't have InvisibleCastle right now. My ReHe Casting Total is +19.

Also - what is the song the harp is singing about?

Do we recognize the sigils? Are they Hermetic sigils marking sancta?
