Interesting stuff. The books are in a very good condition for the most part. The ones that are obviously hermetic look as if to be written by the mages of this place.

You also find minutes of many of the meetings in a bound box

There are two other cabinets to open yet, but this small collection of books is all you find for now.

ooc: I rolled a 9, so I think it worked.

Waving a hand touching softly his eye lids, Thomas' eyes change. They now look a bit like lion-leo's eyes, slitted like a cats, but still have their usual color.

Looking through the books, Leo reports to the party: "Some decent books on Hermetic magic - and also some books on non-Hermetic Arts. Infernal magic, in all likelihood."

He looks at the other cabinets disdainfully. "There are other things where these came from. But I think I've wrestled with them enough for the time being - they can wait till we return."

OOC: Does Leo know if it's likely that it was his touch or his magic that triggered the trap? If no one suggests any other course of action, he'll probably leave the traps alone for the time being - planning on trying to pick them at a later time.

The chamber awaits. Four doors are open on the sides of the room, one of which is open, and a short set of stairs leads up to a fifth. A sixth is behind you, leading back to the castle.

Leo gives the room one last glance. "Well, the answers clearly aren't in this council chamber. Let us move further in. That blood, he motions at the bloodied door, surely indicates something."

He carefully sniffs the door, and pulls it open further, to peer into the room beyond. [I believe it was ajar?]

OOC: Someone try talking to the singing harp; I doubt it will do any good, but it is worth a try. A grog perhaps...

OOC 2: I suspect the holydays are making things a bit slow, Argh... Oh, and happy hannukah....

*Sorry for the lack of an update, had some various things to sort out.

Leo:

As you nose open the door, you see an odd site. In the middle of a circle carved into the center of this room, you see a chain floating in mid air. In the circle with it appears to be a pretty female fairy with only one arm, the other a bloody stump, looking pale and unwell, but interested in you as you come through the door. She mouths something but you can't hear it. The room itself looks old and run-down; some decomposed furniture, plants dried to twigs through the room. Vials, beakers, chemicals and the like are covered in layers of dust. The blood runs from the faerie girls arm from the circle outward to the door.

Ilshana haunts the first chamber for a second until she notices Leo starting to forge ahead. She immediately patters up behind him and tries to see past him into the next room. When she can't get around his bulk, she just huffs and sighs and otherwise makes her impatience known until there's enough room between him and the doorway frame for her to pop her slender self through.

On seeing the fairy girl she gasps in horror and quickly moves to aid her! ...coming to an abrupt halt just before she crosses the magic circle. That she looks at narrowly, then back up at the fairy...then takes a wary step back.

"Can you hear me in there?" she asks.
