You all hear the footsteps and some raised voices, speaking in German.

"Whats this about a lion?"

"It was here, mother superior! I swear by god!"

"You take his name in vain, idiot girl! It is nothing but fancy bread and too many mushrooms." (There is a smacking noise, followed by a cut off whimper.)

"Mother superior, it is true! I saw it as well!"

"Well, there's no lion nor stairway now, nor a hunchback and beautiful woman. Idiocy!"

"But Mother.. what about these stones on the ground, lying shaped like this?"

"Hmmph. Tricks!" (There is a sound of footsteps, and then a moment of silence.) "See, as solid as stone! And if I hear any of you making any rubbish about lions again, it shall be worse. As it is, you shall each do penance two days a week for lying to me. Now, back to your chores!"

Leo smirks as he hears the goings-on. Once the old matron leaves, he quietly says to the other magi "This is all nice and well, but we have a faerie-demon to dispose of, no? I don't think we have much to seek in that holy place yonder."

OOC: Leo has not the skills or inclination to handle this situation well. I suggest that Ilshana will do so if Shayuri likes, but otherwise - let's just go to the maimed girl and confront her and, hopefully, her mother. Let the baron re-seal the place if he wants to, or use it, as the case may be - later.

Ilshana nods, biting on her bottom lip to contain a titter. When the noise fades from the other room she motions back down the stairs. "This'll last long enough for our purpose. Lets go back down to the bound one."

As they marched down the stairs, Ilshana prattled, "Okay, there's some kind of spell that keeps it from speaking, as well as a magic circle and an iron chain binding it. I don't know if I can separate out the anti-speech spell, so we may just have to unravel the circle as a whole, and hope the iron chain's enough to keep it in check. We should put some protections on ourselves as well though, just to be on the safe side."

I object
Reply the deformed magi.
If a chain was all that was needed, then why a circle was drawn and she was silenced. We must try to commune with her in other ways.
The silence that was cast on her is to prevent from the demon to conjure up tricks using arcane prattles. The circle is to prevent her from escaping back to the abyss every night and the chains, assuming they are magical, preventing her from casting magical patterns.

Gorgamesh walks back and forth
If demons can cross the threshold why haven’t they come for her? Are we sure the wizards of the covenant trapped her? There are too many questions to be answered before we release her.

"Very well" Leo concedes. "You can play at pantomime with it, or try to get it to write something. But when that fails, we'll just break the circle and take it from there. We won't know the answers to those questions until we pry them out of her choking throat, if you ask me."

OOC: So, we go to it/her, and Leo watches as Gorgamesh's distorted figure tries to pantomime :)

Gorgamesh grumble and snirs at Leo.

OOC – Is there any chance to communicate with her telepathically with spell?
What about to find out what spells are upon her – what is the circle, is there a protection spell on the chain and if she was silenced by magic?

In principle, yes, all the above (and just about anything else) is possible. In practice, you have the Weak Spontaneous Magic flaw, which means that you can't really pull off any impressive spontaneous magic - you're mostly limited to the spells you know. And your known formulaic spells don't include any spells suitable to achieving any of this.

Telepathy is Intellego Mentem (to read her thoughts); going with base 5, you need to add +1 for range Eye and +1 for duration Concentration at least, for level 25. And the effect needs to penetrate, too, if she/it has Magic Resistance.

Investigating the spells and magic on hand is Intellego Vim. The level varies with the precise effect sought, but generally detecting a moderate or weak spell or effect requires some oomph, probably more than you could manage with your Weak Sponteneous Magic.
