[Art] Looking for Mecha artwork

Note: My apologies if it is not customary to post Art open calls on this forum. The same open call is posted in the Open Calls & Job Vacancies forum, but I figured that this being the Art forum, it would be ok.

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I'm looking for mecha artwork for a future project.

Looking for: Artwork featuring anime-style mecha unit. Think Robotech, Evangelion, Escaflowne, and Gundam. Do not think print Battletech (IMO, the designs are ugly), though Mechwarrior minis are a good indication of a style I like as well. Basically, I like the big robot mecha, though my product will feature mecha suits no larger than 60 ft., and most in the 10-15 ft. category (if you are familiar with the d20 Future mecha rules, I am going for mostly Large mecha, with a few Huge mecha thrown in, for the moment).

Design: I want simple line art that is clean, sharp and has a nice technical feel. I don't necessarily want technical drawings, though done correctly they can work too. Whether inked or not is up to the artist, though for the price I am offering, I understand if we leave the illustrations at line art.
I prefer the figures to be static, either in a pin-up pose, or frozen action pose. If in a frozen action pose, I'd rather most of the figure is visible, so no ultra convoluted mid-action poses. Pin-up style, I think, works best.

As an example of both style and design, please take a look at these two illustrations I did, based on Robotech. I'm only using them as samples of what I'd like to see, more or less. I am not an artist, I just used to draw, so no harsh criticism on the artwork. :)
1- Mid-action pose - Here the mecha are in mid-action. Though they are moving, you can still see the mecha design pretty good.
2- Pin-up pose - Here the mecha is just standing there.

Payment: $20 per image.

Rights: Non-exclusive first publishing rights, electronic and print, plus unlimited use for promotion purposes. Artist retains ownership of artwork, and may display it for promotional purposes (art portfolio, website), and sell subsequent publishing rights in electronic and/or print format to others as long as it is after the stipulated time in the contract (60 days after publication of the artwork).

If you have mecha artwork you have already done, I would be willing to purchase the rights to the artwork for publishing, whether they are first or subsequent rights.

Please send all inquiries and links to online portfolios to halwhitewyrm@yahoo.com or post to this thread. I am currently working on the company website, so I'll post that as soon as I have it finalized.

Thanks for your time, and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email me.

May I be of service?

I'm a freelance artist and writer and I specialize in anime/manga style art and mecha. I usually charge more then $20.00 for my penciled and inked pin-ups, but I'd be willing to work something out. :p

I don't have a website unfortunately, so please send me your email address in a private message so we can talk.

Hope to hear from you soon,
Adam Dickstein

Hope this works...

Here's a sample of an old mecha piece I did for a Mekton Website. It's from 2000 and kinda looks primitive to me compared to my newer works. As soon as I can scan some more recent images I'll try to post them.

Hey Adam. I'm pretty sure you sent me an email and I replied. If not, a PM is on its way to you.
I like what I see. If that's the old stuff, I'm really looking forward to seeing the new stuff.

Thanks! :o

Sometime early tomorrow (09/28) I should be able to post three of my more recent mecha images.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Recent Mecha Illo and Sketches

Hi Again,

Here's a recent mecha illustration I did and a few fairly recent sketches of giant robots from my sketchbook.

On the first one I was trying something with a more Appleseed/Masamune Shirow feel. The second is a fight between two robots from Dream Pod 9's Jovian Chronicles RPG from a gaming session we had a while back. Thirdly, this mech came about while trying to reimagine super heroes as mecha, kind of a gag amoung my mecha fan buddies. See if you can guess what comic book character this one's themed on. The last one is a finished pen and ink of a mecha I designed for a friend's game. It's a pretty 'standard' Gundam-esque design, but that's what he wanted. :\

Anyway, questions and comments welcome.

Just a quick note.

This Open Call is now closed. I have found my artist for the moment (that would be Adam aka. NewLifeForm, above) and we've worked something out.

HOWEVER

If you have mecha artwork that you'd like to post a sample of, please by all means do so. It doesn't hurt, and it'll put you in my rolodex should I have a need for more artists.

Thanks to everyone who replied to this Open Call. I greatly appreciate it.
