Articles for parents about roleplaying

Hello,
I'm currently running a gaming group for kids at a local game shop. I have some kids that want to play, but their parents are concerned about D&D. Does anyone know of any good articles that explain role playing and what it's about. I found a couple, but they were on the religious side. They weren't saying that role playing was bad, but I don't want anything that deals with religion because I don't want to offend anyone. Any ideas would be great.

2) It encourages thinking and imagination, unlike computer and video games
3) It encourages reading and helps them build a vocabulary.
4) It encourages mathmatical thinking

A great place to start is Better World Roleplaying, an organization dedicated to roleplaying and education. Their links page has several links that might be of use, and you can always email them for advice, they are quite knowledgable.

A bunch of other links, both "pro" and "con," are available at About.com. In particular, Michael Stackpole's "Pulling Report" (link on page 2) contains a very detailed rebuttal of a number of points made by Pat Pulling and (the original) B.A.D.D. I also recommend the link "A Parent's Guide to Roleplaying Games" (also on page 2) although the discussion does heavily treat the "religious" arguments.
