NOTE: These are adventure seeds and setting work for my own Hyperborea campaign inspired by the Astonishing Swordsmen & Sorcerors of Hyperborea Gazetteer.
21). The Smoke from their Wings
The priestesses of Neith, the Immortal Water Queen of Titan, summon her as an apparition of smoke with the wings of the holy Ibis during the Feast of Lamps at her temple in the capitol city of Ta-senet that looks upon her son's realm of Saturn. The inner sanctum of the temple is set over a burning fire that is said to come from the center of Titan and whose smoke opens The Way of Eternity that only the priestesses can breathe and survive.
It is said that there is path to Titan somewhere in the desolation of the Plains of Leng in Hyperborea. Otherwise the journey can be made on the Boat of Years that visits the city of Khromarium or through the plane of Dreamland in company with the cats of Bast or from Saturn which can be reached on the etheral Wings of the Amazons or the Starships of Atlantis.
Neith is mother of the Immortal God-King Sobek, ruler of the River Kingdom of Saturn. The two have been at war for as long as the memory of man. She is said, by her followers, to be mother of Apollo, though the Hellenes of Ptolemides in Hyperborea deny this heresy and the people of Titan are not welcome in the city-state.
There is an inscription said to be in the sanctum of her temple purportedly saying;
"I am the things that are, that will be, and that have been. No one has ever laid open the garment by which I am concealed. The fruit which I brought forth was the sun."
