Assassins in PHB3

Nah I meant I find a 4/2/2 scheme more likely, giving enough Ki or Psi classes for a power book. We can easily imagine 4 Psi classes for one (one for each role (and not because of some need to fill the grid, they just fit the roles), though I could imagine a fifth one as a ranged striker as well). And you can add the Monk and whatever else you want to that list afterwards.

I've always thought a 4/4 scheme is the most likely for the PHB3, but you know, a 3/3/3 scheme that fills out three sources isn't impossible either.

I barely skimmed the first sidebar on True Assassins and completely skipped the second fiction sidebar last night when I read the article. Yep, that's definitely a big honking sign post to a new class, and I already want to play one!

PHB 3: Guide to Psionic, Shadow and Ki Heroes

Psionic Defender: Psychic Warrior
Psionic Controller: Psion
Psionic Striker: Soulknife
Psionic Leader: Ardent
Ki Striker: Monk
Ki Defender: Samurai
Shadow Striker: Assassin
Shadow Controller: Beguiler (Illusionist)

This is similar to what I think will be in PHB III though I'd find some way to cram necromancers in there.

I think the soulknife is a given. Hopefully they will merge it with the "Lurk" and produce a sufficiently psionic class.

Oh, and the Ardent is one of my most favorite classes. I pray they decide to port it over to 4e.

How many new power sources are in the PHB2? I thought it was just primal? Mind you I haven't been paying deep attention or anything.

A 3/3/2 scheme would mean no power books for a new source. Even with power books number 2 for the previous sources, I'd kind of expect to have access to a new source as well.

Remember that the Arcane controller (edit: I meant defender) came out in a setting book. There could easily be three Psionic classes in the PHB2 and a fourth in the setting (Darksun?).

*Shifty eyes* What?! Noooo... I am not thinking of remaking my dastardly evil and conniving Lasombra in D&D. Heavens no, why?! *Shifty eyes*

But yeah, if this does prove to be true then awesome! Way to many characters I want to play... No longer just playing a Rogue or Beguiler for me.
