honestly, I like to read existing stuff on forums where people talk about their characters, or even just ask mechanical questions about powers. They tend to inspire me. I have a hard time creating supers characters without some kind of inspiration.

I tend to use character artwork for inspiration. When I see a picture I like the character immediately springs into my mind. I have a very visual mindset - which, I guess, is the reason I enjoy superhero role-playing games the most.
