Attempt to disarm someone with wep finesse!?

sty

First Post
Supose that "A" is not a rougue (barbarian) with uncanny dodge, and "B" is at least 1 lvl Gladiator.

The caracter "A" has a rapier, and uses it with wep finesse, because he´s dex mod is +6, instead of his str mod which is +2.

"A" is surprise by another caracther "B". And B try to disarm him!

On the oposed attack roll check to see who disarm who, does "A" can use the wep finesse (dex mod) to the disarm check!?

Can "A" get an attack of oportunite!?

And if it was the first round, "B" wins the initiative ("A" would be flat fotted). What would happen!?!?

And if "B" feint "A" during the combat!?

My point is can someone how loses the dex bonus for any reason above make an attack of oportinute!? Uses wep finesse feat!?

You only lose your Dex bonus to AC when flat-footed, etc. Yes, he still gets to use Weapon Finesse.

Not if it's the surprise round.

"A" would not be able to take any AoO's and he would lose his Dex bonus to AC. However, "A" would still get to use Weapon Finesse.

"A" would lose his Dex bonus to AC but would still be able to use Weapon Finesse.

Being flat-footed is what prevents you from making any AoO's, not simply losing your dex bonus to AC.

Yes. See previous answers. :)

Not if all of it takes place in one round, unless you have Quicker Than The Eye, as feinting is a standard action, as is the attack to grapple someone. For example, if "B" has the Quicker Than The Eye feat, he can make a feint/bluff as a move-equivalent action, then he could make a melee touch attack for the grapple as a standard action, and "A" wouldn't be a be able to do anything about it.

"B" would not be able to do both actions in one round without being having the feat or without being hasted.

EDIT: I would like to point out, however, that in this particular example, feinting "A" is pointless. "A" has not taken any action yet, so "A" is still flat-footed, which means he loses his Dex bonus to AC. A successful Feint would also cause "A" to lose his Dex bonus, but he's already lost it, so why bother.

Thanks Kr!!

but I was talking about a Gladiator, witch has improved feint (mov equivalent)!!

And also I was mentioning about a combat already started (no surprises or flatt fotted situations on the begning of the combat!)!
But thanks a lot, anyway!!!!!

So, no AoOp if you feint someone and try to grapple him and if it´s in the same round!!
That´s what I thought!!!!

Thanks again!!!!

See you all next threat!!!! :-)

Not if it's the surprise round.

I'm a little rusty with the rules as I've not played in months, but I think this is only true if A doesn't have Combat Reflexes.

Are you sure, that you cannot make AoO's when you lose your Dex bonus to AC?

I think it's only at the start of combat (flat-footed), but not when you use a feint?

And yes, it only applies if you do not have Combat Reflexes, they allow AoO even when flat-footed.
