Attn: Users under the age of 20 (or thereabouts)

I am 45 next month but I do think we will see an increase of gamers down the line, I noted it at last years GenCon, a young and diversified crowd. I like to think there is hope, jst look at how big poker has become again. ;)

I'm 35 and my gaming group, which has been together since about 1999 in various incarnations, has one player in his twenties. Everyone else is 30 and up. In my wider circle of gaming friends and aquaintances I would be hard pressed to find any under 30.

I'm 21, started playing when I was about 14. Got into Magic in grade 8, met a few new friends in high school that way. One of their dads used to play, so in the fall of grade 9 he ran a few sessions for us. After that, we figured out the rest on our own as we went along. Currently my entire group is in the 21-26 range, but I have played with a trio in their late 30s before (two hardcore oldschool guys, and one slightly-less-hardcore-but-equally-oldschool wife). Recruiting new players in my own age group is a trivial task, but that could be because I'm a student - plenty of smart people around. ;)

I'm 32, but our current group ranges in age from 17 to 38.

The 17-year-old had never really role-played before, so we let him "take the lead" in many cases, and it is alot of fun to watch him grapple with situations that I, as a veteran role-player, dealt with when I first started... Watching him get robbed in the marketplace, trying to figure out what the blood-covered altar was used for, etc.

And, to his credit, he's improving in leaps and bounds, and we've gotten him to try many new systems other than D+D, to boot. (Feng Shui, Ars Magica, CoC, etc.)

I think that the gaming industry needs an infusion of new blood and new players to keep it vibrant.

I'm 18 (19 in May). No one introduced me to D&D or RPGs in general. I just got interested. I started D&D when I was 15. It's not that hard to find players of my age group. I just kinda meet them in various places. It's also not all that difficult to get someone my age interested in the game.

I'm 25.

HA! Well, I guess to be fair, anyone under 18 is still in school, or just getting out. Only 3:40 here on the east coast. So, hopefully they'll all post tonight. :)

I'm 25, about median for my group, we range from about 23 to 26. I got into DnD when one of my friends invited me, he is my age. There are two younger roleplaying groups in my area that I have secondhand knowledge of, I'd do games with them if I had the time :P

Oh yeah, I also know a lot of Magic players. That's not my bag, but I know lots of younger people who play it. And other rpg's.
