I'm in Canada, and I had no problem sending mine express. At least the guy at the post office said it was okay, charged me $20, had me sign a form, and stuck a big express sticker on the package. So, it better be going express!

Wheew... 
I'm in the same boat (didn't find out about the open call until the last minute and was going to send my submission Monday) and was crushed when the PO Box issue was brought up. Being in the US also, I hope this won't be a problem. For those that sent theirs via express, which service did you use (the USPS, FEDEX, UPS, etc)?

FedEx will not do this. No way, no how. For various other reasons that don't bear going into, I don't much like FedEX.
Check out the brance offices of the post office. A lot of them are open until 2pm on Saturday. Some of them might be open on Sunday.

Get your stuff in ASAP! If you give it to them on Monday morning they might be able to pull it off.

If you send it out today, it should be there by Tuesday because they have overnight service (says my wife, resident expert on all things shipping).

Our local post office will guarantee delivery by 10:00 am on Tuesday if it is mailed express by 3:00 pm on Monday. The only concern I had was the PO box issue. I'll be sitting on pins and needles until the deadline...wish me luck!
