Augment Healing and the Vigor spells?

For those with the book, this is a Complete Divine question...

The Augment Healing Feat gives you "Add +2 points per spell level to the amounts of damage healed by any Conjuration [Healing] spell that you cast." So, your Cure Light Wounds gives you two more hit points, Cure Serious Wounds gives you four, etc.

This sounds reasonable... until I read the new Vigor spells in the back of the same book. The vigor spells are Conjuration [Healing] spells that says things like "The subject heals 1 hit point per round of such damage until the spell ends ..." The spells have a long duration but give minimal hit point per round.

So, how does Augment Healing work with it? Does it make the vigor spell last longer (ie, more hp damage being healed - one per turn)? Does the hp bonus show up one round, but not the others? Does the hp bonus happen each and every round, because the receipient is being healed by a Conjuration [Healing] spell?

I have no idea how this feat and these spells are supposed to work together. Since I have a cleric character with both, I'd love to know what others think.

Thanks!

I was going to reply (there's a psionic power by the same name) but it's not a [healing] power. Phew.

I don't have the book, but by the wording of the feat, clearly the total amount of damage healed by the spell would increase by 2 hit points per spell level.

This extra healing would most likely spread out over the duration of the spell until the augmented amount ran out (maybe by adding 2 hit points per round for a number of rounds equal to the spell level, or 1 hit point per spell level for the first 2 rounds).

I would apply the bonus from Augment Healing during the first round. Applying it every round is too good, and trying to spread it out is too much bookeeping.

(Only the first round)

Second that.

Cross-posting the response from Andrew Finch at the WoTC boards in response to this question.

The Vigor spell line grants the recipient of the spell the Fast Healing ability, but does not in fact heal the target despite being a Conjuration (Healing) spell. The feat Augmented Healing increases the amount that a caster heals, which the caster is not doing with any of these spells.

It may be that this line of spell should be Transmutation and not Conjuration (Healing). This will be added to the items to be reviewed for errata.
