Augment Summoning Question

Hi JesterPoet,

Listen to Staffan here. I had to do the same with my 13th level Alienist - who as well as having Augment Summoning must also apply the Psuedonatural Template to all of his creatures (They get True Strike 1/day, Acid and Electricity Resistance, Spell Resistance, DR and so on).

The only way how this was at all possible to run in a game was to virtually have a character sheet for each monster.
Be aware that as well as HP's, Fortitude saves, To Hit and Damage, a lot of creatures also have abilities based upon strength or constitution values.
Eg. Trample (Str), Save DC for an Air Elemental's Whirlwind (Str), Poison DC (Con) etc.

Just look for such things as "The DC for saves against the whirlwind’s effects varies with the elemental’s size (see the table). The save DC is Strength based."
In practice, this just means raising the DC by 2.

Best Regards

Couple of questions here on some of the odd special attacks.
Constrict, Trample, and Rend do x1.5 Str bonus? Rend appears different in various entries (Dire Ape vs. Troll) but appears that correct is x1.5, not x2.
Rake gets x.5 Str bonus?
Rhino's Powerful Charge does x2 horn damage, for overall x3 Str bonus?

Related question on wildshaping - since you only get the bonus feats of the form taken, do you have to recalculate damage for tiger and rhino forms to account for the fact that you *don't* get Improved Natural Attack?

You are correct. Make sure to up the trample DC if strength changes since it is a STR based DC.

Rake gets x.5 Str bonus?

Yes again. Rakes are an odd attack because their to hit bonus is the same as a primary claw attack, but the damage is dealt as though they were secondary weapons.

Rhino's Powerful Charge does x2 horn damage, for overall x3 Str bonus?

Right, rhinos are nasty on a charge with augument summoning, even worse if animal growthed. :)

Yep, make sure you change your damage dice for creatures with improved natural attack. Just be glad that animals actually get feats in 3.5 rather than just bonus ones like 3.0. It helps make animal companions and SNA's much better.
